Parental Consent

By Simon Lawrence

Well that’s just fine,
The icing on my cake,
You ridicule every comment I make,

I’ll just shut up and sit very still,
In the path of your glare,
The glare that can kill,

You moan once I’ve done it,
You’d moan if I did not,
One pair of hands,
That’s all that I’ve got.

Do it yourself, I’d love to say,
But if I did you’d make me pay,
You think it’s big,
You think it’s smart,
At least I’m not a wrinkly old fart,
What? I said nothing,
It really doesn’t matter,
I wouldn’t tell you,
Who cares how much of me you batter,

I can clean my own face, for Gods sake,
What a fuss you always make,
It’s only school,
Like anyone would care,
What I look like,
What I wear.

I’m going now I made 18,
I’m on my own,
Just me and my loan.
