Vegetables

Vegetables here,
Vegetables there,
On menu’s vegetables are everywhere,

Where do they come from?
Where do they go?
A fact that science never will
                    know,

Fruit and veg are good for us,
Or so we’re often told,
To contest the opinion of a parent,
                    Wow, you’d need to be bold.

Rabbits seem to enjoy
much more,
The food stuff which we most abhor,
They chew and nibble
Without a dribble,
Happily munching away today,
      While we stir fry and curry,
        It’s prepared in a hurry,
          Just to be thrown away.
